LOEWE Leather-trimmed Tote- Summer Must-Have

Loewe, in the past 2 to 3 years, has experienced a rapid surge in popularity! The value of their handbags has also skyrocketed.

When I laid eyes on this Loewe woven blue bag, I knew I had to buy it—primarily because the price wasn’t too exorbitant (especially considering it’s a top-tier luxury item). LOEWE draws inspiration from traditional craftsmanship around the world, collaborating with top-notch artisans.

Loewe, founded in 1846, is a Spanish luxury fashion house with a rich history. Initially, it was a collective of leather artisans crafting small goods like luggage and wallets. Appointed by King Alfonso XIII as the official supplier to the Spanish royal crown in 1905, Loewe remains one of the longest-standing luxury labels. Today, it seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, creating modern objects of desire.

At first, LOEWE caught my attention—not for its clothing or handbags, but for its uniquely designed furniture. Last year, I delved into an in-depth report on the Milan Furniture Exhibition, which left me with a profound impression of this brand’s rich cultural heritage.

Jonathan Anderson, who is equally passionate about photography, conceptualizes each season’s clothing catalog within various settings. In doing so, he skillfully blends fashion, nature, and folk culture.

This time, I collaborated with fashion photographer Gray Sorrenti to create the catalog for the PAULA’S IBIZA collection. We traveled all the way to the Indian capital, New Delhi, to vividly showcase the clothing amidst its vibrant and lively backdrop.

Models weave through the streets of New Delhi, riding skateboards, tricycles, and BMX bikes, all while attending private parties at the grand Dilliwalen mansion. Against this vibrant backdrop, they embody the essence of genuine friendship and unbridled enjoyment—a celebration of life in motion.

From this season’s window display designs, one can sense the joy and delight brought about by the post-pandemic era. It also reflects contemplation and thoughtfulness towards Spanish culture. The inspiration originates from Ibiza, the beautiful island in Spain.

Ibiza holds special significance for Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe. From childhood through adolescence, it has been intricately tied to his Spanish roots. This season, he channels the carefree spirit of the Balearic Islands, specifically Ibiza, infusing it into fabrics, designs, and visual expressions.
