Blue Bottle Ikebukuro

For a coffee lover like me, buying Blue Bottle’s gear, beans, and filters is perfect for beginners making pour-over coffee. A great cup of coffee should start with our own taste, not others’ opinions.

Blue Bottle Coffee started in 2004 on the west coast of the US and became popular for starting the third wave of coffee. In 2015, they opened their first international store in Kiyosumi, Tokyo. The Ikebukuro branch is small and quiet. It’s hidden in an alley, and finding it feels like a happy surprise!

James Freeman, the founder of Blue Bottle Coffee, chose Japan as the first step abroad because he loved Japanese café culture. This inspired him to create Blue Bottle Coffee, which blends this culture into its style. The Roppongi store in Barneys New York is big with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Blue Bottle Coffee, known for its pour-over coffee, doesn’t rush to open many stores. They care about every customer and work hard to give the best coffee experience. Visiting their Ikebukuro Cafe, I really felt welcomed, like at home.

Do you enjoy sitting down and really savoring a cup of coffee like I do? You can get that here. Specialty coffee is more than a brand; it’s an idea, a dream. A full cup should carry the tradition of the coffee maker, not just be a morning pick-me-up.

Pairing a perfect pancake with a latte is amazing. Enjoy the coffee’s taste changing in your mouth to find your favorite flavor. Then, a bite of creamy pancake balances the bitter taste… it’s like heaven.

Blue Bottle is focusing more on desserts, offering a variety of styles like French, American, and British. But the main idea is that these treats are made to go with coffee, not just to be eaten on their own.

Coffee keeps adding new value to food culture. But, just like any raw material, not all coffee beans are good, and that’s hard to change. It’s up to sellers and buyers to choose, sell, and buy the good ones.

Most Blue Bottle cafes in Tokyo have big windows that let in lots of sunlight. They’re great for reading or chatting for a long time. I was lucky when I went; only two customers were there, and I found a seat by the window without waiting in line.

Perfect brewing isn’t about being flawless, but understanding the coffee beans better. It’s about practicing, tasting, and trying new measurements and brewing times to learn more about coffee. I chose a French toast that looks like a cake. Its calm buttery flavor goes well with a latte.

Enjoy a relaxing time with a cup of coffee at Minami-Ikebukuro Park! It’s a lovely green space where locals and office workers often take a break. This calm spot is rare and special in the busy city of Ikebukuro. Drinking Blue Bottle Coffee here makes a quick coffee break feel slow and lazy. It’s a different vibe from the usual Ikebukuro.
